2011 has brought many exciting changes to Delicias in Rancho Santa Fe and it looks like the positive momentum will continue into 2012. Not only has the restaurant expanded its menu to include seasonal selections and homemade specialties, but Delicias has continued its reputation as the finest destination for premium wines, winning the 2011 ‘Best Of’ Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator Magazine.

As the days get shorter, Delicias Restaurant, Rancho Santa Fe’s premier dining destination, is pleased to announce another great addition for guests to enjoy.

After listening to feedback from patrons and Rancho Santa Fe residents, it became clear that people have responded very positively to the recent changes at Delicias. Not only have guests been able to enjoy bottles of wine from the award winning wine cellar (recently awarded the 2011 Best of Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator Magazine for their superior selection of fine wines), but they have thoroughly enjoyed the greatly expanded wines-by-the-glass menu as well.

Delicias Restaurant has undergone many positive changes this summer under the direction of owner Owen Perry. The restaurant has expanded its menu to include seasonal selections and homemade specialties like handmade pastas, wood-fired pizzas, specialty burgers and $5.00 tapas. Additionally, Delicias continues its reputation as the finest destination for premium wines, winning the 2011 Best Of Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator Magazine. Delicias now features over 2000 wines in its award winning cellar, made up of over 340 labels that are available by the bottle. Guests can also sample the diverse vintages through Delicias’ 24 new wines by the glass.

2011 Best of Award of Excellence received by Delicias Restaurant for outstanding wine selection

Delicias Restaurant has been awarded the 2011 Best of Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator Magazine for the second year in a row and is one of only 5 San Diego restaurants to receive the designation.

According to Wine Spectator Magazine, winners of the award clearly exceed the requirements of the first tier award, the Award of Excellence. Winners of the Best of Award of Excellence “typically offer 400 or more selections, along with superior presentation, and display either vintage depth, with several vertical offerings of top wines, or excellent breadth across several wine regions.”

Thursday and Friday feature summer lunch specials for a limited time

Delicias Restaurant’s owner Owen Perry has developed the restaurant in many ways since acquiring the property in 2008. Most recently Perry has brought in Certified Sommelier Richard Matuszczak to expand the wine menu, successfully expanding the wines-by-the-glass offerings to over 24, providing patrons the opportunity to not just enjoy many classic favorites, but get to know some special sommelier selections as well.
