The celebration is an annual program that has happened every April for the last 16 years. It serves as an opportunity for prominent chefs to “invest in San Diego’s culinary future” by funding and mentoring a program that provides budding chefs in San Diego the opportunity to get advanced training and experience. A large portion of the fund that they raise goes towards sending a handful of these local participants to a sort of chefs boot camp in Napa Valley. This year Delicias hosted a dinner with a superb menu. Each dish that was offered was created by a different chef from a different restaurant including Minstrel, Urban Solace, and Grant Hill along side Aaron Martinez and two of the Delicias chefs. The plates were carefully chosen and expertly executed.

Later in April, from the 22nd through the 29th, Delicias will be closed while we work hard to bring you an even better experience. Though we will be out for this last week of April we are sure that the remodel will bring some exciting changes. We look forward to inviting you back on the first of May.

The Education Foundation currently has a deficit of $86,000 against this year’s district grant of $1,000,000 that funds important “Five-Star Education” programs such as Small Class Size and more.

Delicias Restaurant offered to help this cause by hosting a private 3-course dinner for the first 80 people who contribute an additional $250 per person to the EF in an effort to defeat the deficit.

The EF has expressed gratitude to Delicias and the Perry Family for sponsoring this effort. It was a wonderful evening celebrating the strength of our community, parents and businesses, working together to support our neighborhood and school.  Thank you to all those who supported.
